    vBeers Raleigh – Rudino’s Cary (Thursday, December 8, 2011) 

    imageThis will be a special family edition of vBeers. I’ve found it so rewarding meeting new people and talking with others about tech, work, and family during vBeers that I’d like to try something new during the holiday season.  Let’s include our families that support us in our passion for our work and the technology we love to talk about so much.  Together we can all enjoy some hot pizza and cold beer.

    I suggest we try this by breaking it up.  Dinner starting at 5:45 and then drinks only following approx 7:30.  This will be to help include those with other dinner plans or wish to just come and talk shop per previous vBeers Raleigh gatherings.

    vBeers – Raleigh (Thursday, October 20, 2011) 

    Enjoy some of Raleigh’s finest locally brewed beers and talk vShop with your peers.  This month’s vBeers will take place at Big Boss Brewery located inside the beltline.  Pool tables, ping pong, and other activities are available so come ready for a challenge!  Unless I am mistaken, each beer is named after a WWII bomber and the artwork they use is fantastic.  Big Boss has become a staple in the Atwell household so I’m sure this event will provide great beer and conversation.  Learn more about Big Boss at http://bigbossbrewing.com/.  As with LoneRider brewery they do not serve food at the taproom but they often have food trucks come by to provide sustenance.

    vBeers – Raleigh/RTP/Triangle – The Flying Saucer (Wed 10th August 2011) 

    vBeers - RaleighThe Raleigh/RTP/Triangle area makes a great place for networking. Great brew houses, great breweries, and some of the top virtualization folks and companies in the country, perhaps the world. Let’s put these together and get a vBeers gathering started in the Triangle.

    If you’re not familiar with vBeers (http://www.vbeers.org/organise/) it is an informal gathering of virtualization folks to hang out, drink beer, and talk shop. This is not an event for presentations or vendor sponsorship. It’s for drinking beer and talking shop. Here’s what I propose:

    Place: The Flying Saucer Raleigh
    Date: August 10th, 2011 (Wednesday)
    Time: 5:30pm – Late
    Who: You and anyone else who wants to talk shop.

    vBeers- Raleigh

    I have checked Flying Saucer’s calendar and it looks like that night is Brewery Nite and the glass being given away is an Elvis glass. I’ll assume those interested in vBeers knows that Flying Saucer has the best selection of beers in the area. This should be interesting and a ton of fun. If I get enough responses I’ll look to get the back room set aside for us. If all goes well, which I am sure it will we’ll have another vBeers in September as well.
