The Raleigh/RTP/Triangle area makes a great place for networking. Great brew houses, great breweries, and some of the top virtualization folks and companies in the country, perhaps the world. Let’s put these together and get a vBeers gathering started in the Triangle.
If you’re not familiar with vBeers (http://www.vbeers.org/organise/) it is an informal gathering of virtualization folks to hang out, drink beer, and talk shop. This is not an event for presentations or vendor sponsorship. It’s for drinking beer and talking shop. Here’s what I propose:
Place: The Flying Saucer Raleigh
Date: August 10th, 2011 (Wednesday)
Time: 5:30pm – Late
Who: You and anyone else who wants to talk shop.
I have checked Flying Saucer’s calendar and it looks like that night is Brewery Nite and the glass being given away is an Elvis glass. I’ll assume those interested in vBeers knows that Flying Saucer has the best selection of beers in the area. This should be interesting and a ton of fun. If I get enough responses I’ll look to get the back room set aside for us. If all goes well, which I am sure it will we’ll have another vBeers in September as well.
All you need to do is reply to this thread stating you plan to attend or send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you’re on twitter then let me know. You can follow me at @Josh_Atwell.
Updates will be made on this thread and on Twitter with hashtag #vBeers and probably #vBeersRaleigh.
vBeers brings happiness to the world so come on out!
